U.S. is 42nd in the World for Infant Mortality!!!
Note: Thats the head start toward health that children in most other rich countries receive. Theres a stronger focus on pre-natal care. In part because of this infant mortality in all other industrial countries is lower than the United States, which ranks 42nd in the world. EVERY other rich country does better.

Note: South Korea plans to help obese children pay for health club membership and other activities that can help them lose weight, an official said on Wednesday.

Beer Pong with the St. Pauli Girl
Note: Irina Voronina sucks at beer pong. Or Beirut, if you prefer that name, which I most certainly do. Thats how the distinctly college game in which competitors stand on either side of a table and hurl Ping-Pong balls into keg cups full of beer, then either fight, screw or puke, was introduced to me.

Note: College students are arguably the group most sensitive to swings in gasoline prices and the quickest to adjust. So how has the dorm set reacted as the price at the pump surged then declined somewhat to a $3.64 national average?

Cartoon characters brutally killed in new art exhibition
Note: The gruesome pictures include childrens cartoon favourite Daffy Duck having his head blown off by a gun-wielding Bugs Bunny, as blood is sprayed everywhere.Another violent picture shows famous cartoon cat and mouse duo Tom and Jerry as never before - with Tom the cat chopping Jerry into small pieces in a pool of blood and guts.

Lebanon: The Switzerland of the Middle East [PICS]
Note: Those who still remember times of peace before the Civil War (1975-90) would say that comparison with Switzerland is not so far fetched. Many banks made home there and the culture diversity and color was simply astounding. Combine it with natural grandeur, and there you have it - something to be treasured in the heart of anyone who experienced it.

Airport X-ray art wont amuse TSA
Note: Artist Evan Roth wants to send a message to the TSA that he is fed up with all the airport security nonsense. His nervy method of delivery - special metal plates inserted in carry-on bags - has already gotten the attention of screeners in trial runs. Among the messages: Nothing to see here and what Roth calls the exact opposite of a box cutter.
