Next generation of swimwear sparks revolt
Note: Fifteen out of the 17 top European nations, including Great Britain, have signed a protest which is to be presented to the world governing body FINA calling for a number of regulations to be discussed and implemented. The number of world records set this year reached 105 at the European Short-Course Championships in Croatia.

Finally Official 2009 Arena Football League Season Sacked
Note: The Arena Football League has canceled its 2009 season subject to agreement of the players' union. The decision comes days after the AFL said next season had not been suspended. League officials hope to return in 2010.

Italian Rescued 65 Miles Short of Rowing Pacific Ocean Solo
Note: An Italian man who was trying to complete a journey of 10,000 nautical miles across the Pacific Ocean in a row boat had to be rescued just 65 nautical miles (75 miles) from his destination in Australia.

Note: The suspended Super Bowl hero refused to discuss the Nov. 29 shooting at the Latin Quarter nightclub that led to criminal possession of a weapon charges and his suspension for the rest of the regular season and the playoffs for conduct detrimental to the team.

Another Collapse Ends Packers' Playoff Hopes
Note: Green Bay's slim playoff chances ended in fitting fashion -- with another fourth-quarter collapse. The Packers (5-9) lost on a late drive for the third consecutive week. Carolina beat Green Bay 35-31 two weeks ago with a 55-yard drive in the final two minutes. Houston kicked a winning field goal as time expired to win 24-21 last week.

Note: The tall guy holding the camera in the Washington Capitals' locker room works for the team's Web site. Two and a half hours earlier, the same guy was sitting on the Capitals' bench serving as an emergency backup goalie.

Danny Way Answers Questions About The 80-foot-tall Mega Ramp
Note: I built one prototype prior to the Mega Ramp in 2001, I think it was, for this contest called the "King of Skate." I built the first prototype and it was a little bit smaller than the Mega Ramp. I had two of the other ramps I built before that, and I called them the super ramps back then. There was never a calculation, just human trial and error.

Note: Robbie Gould and the Chicago Bears handed Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints another devastating loss at Soldier Field. Gould kicked the tying field goal at the end of regulation and booted a 35-yarder in overtime to lift the Chicago Bears to a 27-24 victory on Thursday night, giving their playoff hopes a boost.

Flyers staged their biggest comeback in 20 years winning 6-5
Note: Scott Hartnell had a hat trick and the Philadelphia Flyers win by erasing a four-goal deficit in the third period and beating the Carolina Hurricanes 6-5 in a shootout victory Thursday night. Hartnell scored twice on second shots in the third period to complete his fourth NHL hat trick.

The National Basketball Players Association, Catholic Charities USA and Feed The Children announced today that they are teaming up to deliver meals to 30,000 deserving families this holiday season.
