Social.fm Closes Its Music Operation
Social.fm, the music site formerly known as Mercora, closed its doors last week. Although it had raised $5 million in venture funding from Norwest Venture Partners and signed a deal with Microsoft, Social.fm struggled to find its niche and faltered going head to head with more established providers including Pandora, Last.fm, Imeem and iLike.
